Country house sale captures zeitgeist for Chinese art

A country house sale at Boningtons in Essex will feature some very good pieces from an estate in Northamptonshire, and allow those who enjoy Chinese art the opportunity for further acquisition.

Featuring many typical items from a country house sale, from candlesticks to trinkets, there are also a large number of items from China and Japan. From simple netsukes to elaborate Chinese paintings, collectors of this kind of work will be interested in the many various lots on offer this month.

Pale green jade brush pot from the 18th century

Highlights include a meticulously carved Chinese pale green jade brush pot from the 18th century valued between £12,000-£18,000 and some beautiful handscrolls, oil paintings on silk and woodblock prints.
