A record breaking 151,000 people visited the CLA Game Fair last weekend to enjoy VIP visits and top debates at Blenheim Palace over the event's three days.

The Duke of Edinburgh, David Cameron and Defra minister Lord Rooker were among those present at the show, which attracted 13,000 more than the last event at Broadlands, Hampshire, in 2006 (pictured here).

CLA president Henry Aubrey-Fletcher said: 'It is a record figure and demonstrates clearly the importance of the countryside to people of all ages and backgrounds.'

Mr Cameron said: 'What we want is a living and working countryside. The CLA Game Fair has lots of examples of the things which are great about the countryside in all its wonderful diversity.'

The popular venue, the fact that it was the show's 50th anniversary and the cancellation of last year's show all contributed to the record breaking number of visitors at this year's CLA Game Fair.
