Lower Henshilwood is situated in an attractive rural landscape which is located in the enviable position of lying almost equi-distant from Edinburgh and Glasgow. The property is surrounded by open countryside and benefits from attractive views.

Surrounding countryside offers much in the way of outdoor pursuits. Fishing is available by permit on a number of local lochs and rivers, notably the excellent trout fishing on the Clyde, while field sports opportunities are also available locally. The surrounding quiet country roads offer good hacking and as with most parts of Scotland one is never too far from a golf course. Lanark is no exception with the historic club housing the challenging 18 hole parkland course, with a further three clubs nearby, namely Kames Country Club lies within a 3 mile radius of Lower Henshilwood and includes an 18 hole course and driving range, Carnwath Golf Club and Carluke Golf Club.
