Country Life talks to William Asprey, founder of William & Son, who will be at Cornbury Park in June.
William Asprey is the founder of luxury and bespoke goods company William & Son.
Describe what you do:
“William & Son is a luxury goods store that has a definitively British take on the finer things in life. We create and curate fine jewellery and timepieces, leather goods, silver and glassware as well as elegant kit and tackle. For the serious sportsman, we offer bespoke, handcrafted shotguns and our own line of perfectly cut and practical country clothing.”
How did you get started with William & Son?
“I founded William & Son in 1999. We are dedicated to employing the highest quality of craftsmanship and the most exemplary of materials, to traditional but also innovation, and most definitely to the charms of the unexpected.”
What is your USP?
“William & Son’s own collections are produced, wherever possible, by British craftsmen, many working exclusively for us.”
Why should people come and see you at the Cornbury Park Field & Country Fair?
“William & Son will be showcasing our latest tweed collection, from action back jackets, breeks, and ladies skirts to showerproof trench coats. Designed in-house our clothing range brings a stylish and practical feel to the field.
“There will also be a selection of accessories: colourful pocket squares, cashmere hats and scarves and beautifully crafted hip flasks, all perfect for gifting.
“Gunroom manager, Ian Andrews and I will be on hand to offer advice and guidance to both beginners and experts whilst presenting a selection of our handcrafted shotguns and rifles. Whether it’s a standard 12 bore or a bespoke pair of guns you require, we will be on hand to answer your questions.”
