A prestigious working vineyard in the heart of Provence has been launched on the market by agents Emile Garcin. Located at the edge of the upper Var, 30km north east of Aix-en-Provence and a 50 minute ride from Marseille airport, it would suit one of the many City ex-patriots looking for a new lifestyle.

The house lies at the edge of a village with a strong community and a good array of amenities including a nursery and primary school. Within the grounds of the house is a swimming pool, formal gardens, a 17th century bastide, and two agricultural barns, including one which is air-conditioned and houses storage for bottles, a tasting cellar and workshops.

The vineyard boasts 24ha of vines

The vineyard is certified organic and boasts 24 hectares of vines, most of which are dedicated to the production of 'Coteaux d'Aix'. Grape varieties include: Granache, Syrah Cabernet, Cinsault, Carignan, Chardonnay, Ugni, Poker and Sauvignon. The vines are between 17 and 44 years old.

According to a survey published last summer, British buyers form the largest group of foreigners buying up vineyards in some regions of France.

Emile Garcin are asking EUR 9.9m for the property.
