Added to which, the interior space is designed to accommodate a variety of different loads. With the rear seats upright, there is plenty of room for a picnic hamper and fold-away chairs. For those venturing further afield, the fold-flat front passenger seat feature creates a table-like surface for versatility and makes way from storing everything from a ladder, to skis or snowboards.

Two Jeep Patriot models, Patriot Sport and Patriot Limited, are on sale from July 2007. The Sport 2.4 petrol manual will retail at £15,995 rising to £18,795 for the Patriot Limited 2.0 diesel manual.
