Best of the countryside with Jeep
Today's young parents, whether they live in the city or the countryside, will all be looking for the same qualities when buying their next family car: size, safety and economy.
And to enjoy the best of the countryside, there's no better cruising view than one which enables you to see over the hedgerows.
With these points in mind, Jeep have launched their new entry-level model. The Jeep Patriot ticks all the boxes: it is compact, loaded with safety features such as side-curtain airbags and ESP, and has all the benefits of driving a 4x4 while still managing to achieve an impressive 42.2mpg.
Added to which, the interior space is designed to accommodate a variety of different loads. With the rear seats upright, there is plenty of room for a picnic hamper and fold-away chairs. For those venturing further afield, the fold-flat front passenger seat feature creates a table-like surface for versatility and makes way from storing everything from a ladder, to skis or snowboards.

Freedom Drive I 4WD system provides confidence in all weather conditions
Peter Lambert, MD of Chrysler Group UK, said: 'You can't escape the fact that the new Jeep Patriot looks like a classic Jeep – but there is nothing old-fashioned about the performance and fuel economy of this compact SUV or its state-of-the-art four-wheel drive system.'
The safety features of the Patriot are exceptional, Mr Lambert continues. 'The higher seating position of the Patriot, together with the new four-wheel drive system that automatically switches from front to four-wheel drive as you drive round a bend or if you lose traction, offers drivers a real advantage in everyday driving conditions.'
Two Jeep Patriot models, Patriot Sport and Patriot Limited, are on sale from July 2007. The Sport 2.4 petrol manual will retail at £15,995 rising to £18,795 for the Patriot Limited 2.0 diesel manual.
