The Helbeck Collection – a private collection of about 40 antique English quilts and coverlets dating from 1750-1900 collected by Mrs Blackett-Ord over the past 40 years and rarely seen in public. The collection includes early linen and cotton quilts; those made from Indian chintzes of the 17th and 18th centuries; French patterns of the late 18th century; Victorian silk and patchworks from furnishing fabrics printed at Bannister Hall Printworks. Many of the quilts still have their original papers in, and some have been restored.  The exhibition is at Helbeck Hall, Brough, Cumbria on 25th  26th , 27th and 28th June from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Entrance is £5 and catalogues are £5 each. Tickets may be bought in advance.
