6 Deanwood House comprises one of the principal wings of this impressive Victorian country house and has a superb Victorian and Edwardian interior which has been carefully maintained and improved by the present owners. The house was thought to have been built in about 1870 and is a fine example of the style of that period. It was later altered and remodeled in the early part of the 20th century incorporating features typical of the Arts and Craft movement. This included the addition of a magnificent stained glass dome over the staircase and probably included the building of the superb bay windows in the drawing room and main bedroom. The house incorporates the original main staircase and one of the former reception rooms as well as the impressive front doors and vestibule. It is beautifully presented throughout and is both light and spacious with high ceilings, open fireplaces in the drawing room and master bedroom, and excellent well proportioned reception areas and good sized bedrooms. The property benefits from having carved oak panelling, panelled doors and tiled floors.

Outside

The private garden is an extremely attractive feature of the house and comprises a formal area with a terrace, lawns and flower borders enclosed by a clipped yew hedge together with a lightly wooded area incorporating mature English oaks, rhododendrons and azaleas.
