Since 2007 the buildings have remained vacant and unused. During this period Blanchworth Care Developments (Potters Pond) Ltd have developed the proposals to prepare Wotton for the notable increase in the need for care supported residential accommodation, as both national and local demographic forecasts indicate will need to be accommodated. Currently, forecasts show a marked future shortage of accommodation of facilities suitable for those above retirement age when living in their current own homes is not a viable option. The proposals have been amended and developed in recent months following extensive public consultation and the input of many consultees through the planning application process.
