Description
Harlaw is an impressive house. The original part of the house was built in the 1950s and it was extended first in the 1960s. It was acquired by the sellers in the mid 1980s, who renovated and added to the house, first in 1985 and again in about 1990. The house was also rewired and re-plumbed at that time. As such it is a spacious and well presented house, which is laid out for family living and is ideal for entertaining.
A particular feature is the indoor pool. This was added in 1985. Latterly the pool has been floored over with removable floor panels, and is used as a games room. As such there is flexibility for both. The pool benefits from a heat reclaim system.
The house is harled with some stone finishings, and a slate roof. Electric gates (on both front and back drives) lead up to a block paved parking and turning area adjacent to the front of the house.
Accommodation
Tiled steps lead up to a covered entrance with downlighters and glazed door with glazed side panels to entrance vestibule, hallway, sitting room, study, living room, sun room, dining room, games room/indoor pool, changing room, 2 WCs, kitchen, utility room, master bedroom with dressing room and en suite bathroom, 4 further bedrooms, 2 further bathrooms.
Outside
At the back of the games room is a boiler room housing Concorde oil fired boiler. Beyond the house is a garage block, which is harled with a slate roof and includes three garages (3.3 m x 5.8 m, 2.8 m x 5.8 m and 3 m x 5.8 m), with automatic up and over doors and a workshop (2.8 m x 5.8 m) with fitted shelves.
The attractive garden surrounding the house includes shrub and flower borders, trees and areas of lawn and is enclosed by walling. There is a summer house which is currently used as a dog kennel.
