Situation
Wessex Farm sits in a prominent position with lovely views across to the Wessex Down, King Alfred’s Tower and Duncliffe Hill.
To the East of the farm lies Shaftesbury, the “Shaston” of Thomas Hardy’s novels, one of the oldest and highest towns in England and dominates what Hardy called the “engirdled and secluded” Blackmore Vale. The town offers a wide range of shops and facilities. The town of Gillingham lies to the North West. Larger centres are located at Sherborne and Salisbury which all provide a superb range of facilities.
Communication links are excellent with the A30 and A303 providing access across Southern England. Trains to London Waterloo are available from Gillingham and take approximately 2 hours.
The area is well known for its excellent selection of primary and secondary schools including Port Regis and St Mary’s at Shaftesbury, Bryanston at Blandford, Sandroyd at Tollard Royal, Canford at Wimborne and Clayesmore at Iwerne Minster.
Sporting and recreational opportunities in the area include golf at Port Regis, Tollard Royal and Rushmore, with horse racing at Wincanton and Taunton. There is also excellent walking and riding country in the surrounding area.

Accommodation
FARMHOUSE
Wessex Farm is an impressive brand new house built of local Shaftesbury greenstone under a tile roof and is approached via a sweeping gravel drive. Recently completed, the house is built to a very high standard, with mullion windows and stone fireplaces. All the ground floor rooms benefit from the wonderful views across open countryside and have a light and airy feel to them. French doors from each room lead out to the paved patio which runs the width of the house and is a haven from which to enjoy the afternoon and evening sun.
There is under-floor heating on both the ground floor and first floor. The heating for the house is generated by a new air source heat pump. There is a top specification sound system to the kitchen, drawing room and master bedroom.
The house is entered through the stone entrance porch and wooden front door which leads through to:
The large Reception Hall with stone fireplace and stone floor, cloakroom, downstairs WC and under-stairs cupboard.
Triple aspect Drawing Room with oak floor and stone fireplace.
Spacious Kitchen with electric Aga and hob, fitted cupboards with granite work tops and central island. Steps down to the Dining/Living Area which once again benefits from the extensive views across open countryside.
Stairs from the hall lead up to a balcony landing with two double Bedrooms with en suite Bathrooms. Master Bedroom Suite with “his and hers” dressing rooms and bathroom.
Stairs from the landing lead up to the second floor with two additional Bedrooms and a Bathroom.
Adjacent to the house is a triple garage with utility room and games room with storage above.
