Irstead is a small unspoilt rural hamlet lying between Horning and Neatishead. The village of Neatishead is approximately 1.5 miles away and has a village shop and public house. The bustling riverside village of Horning (2 miles) has further everyday shopping including a delicatessen, 3 public house and restaurants. Extensive facilities are available in Wroxham (4 miles) the acknowledged centre of the Broads network. The house is a field away from the picturesque Alderfen Broad, and for sailing Barton Broad is a short drive away where there is a thriving sailing club. The Norfolk Broads encompasses an area which now has National Park status. The coast is accessible at Horsey and Waxham where there are long sandy beaches.
Norwich, the cathedral city and regional centre of East Anglia, is approximately 12 miles. There is a regular train service to the city from Wroxham with connections to the London Liverpool Street service, with an approximate journey time from Norwich of 1 hour 50 minutes.

Grebe Cottage and Little Grebe Cottage are a pair of period cottages, both detached, and as the name suggests Grebe Cottage is the larger of the two and sits centrally within the delightful gardens. Grebe Cottage is an attractive west facing cottage, constructed of mellow red brick under a pan tile roof. Outside
Grebe Cottage and Little Grebe Cottage share the same drive, approached from the east, through a wooden five bar gate onto a gravelled parking and turning area adjoining both houses. The gardens and grounds are a particularly attractive feature and compliment the rural position the houses enjoy. To the west of Grebe Cottage is the main expanse of lawn, with a mature silver birch and hedging on the boundary. A paved terrace runs the length of the house, with a lavender bed adding colour, as well as a fig tree. The lawn sweeps round to the south to a further garden, enclosed by mature hedging, with fruit trees. To the east of the house, adjoining the gravelled drive, is a further area of lawn. A wooden shed is to the north of the house.

Directions
Leave Norwich via the A1151 and after passing Roys of Wroxham at the mini roundabouts turn right signed to Potter Heigham, Ludham and Horning (A1062). After approximately 2.5 miles turn left at the Horning crossroads (signed to RRH Radar Museum). Take the next right (signed to Irstead) and follow the road passing the Radar Museum (on your left), Neatishead Hall Farm (on your right) and Browns Hill (on your right). Continue around an s-bend and Grebe Cottage and Little Grebe Cottage can be found after a short distance on the left hand side.
