Camis Eskan House was part of the Colgrain Estate, owned by the Dennistoun family from 1377. In 1836 James Dennistoun of Dennistoun sold the estate to Colin Campbell, a member of the West Indian merchant family. The mansion house was sold by his descendants in 1946 to the Western Region Hospital Board and then in 1979 it was restored and converted into apartments.
