Property description
Walk to Ponce City Market, BeltLine, Piedmont Park, shopping, dining and multiple MARTA stations. Pre-war two bedroom condo plus office and basement storage in a building called The Tyree, just off Ponce half way between Piedmont and Monroe. Off street parking is available nearby for a small monthly fee. It has hardwoods and updated kitchen/bath, yet the charm remains. Google fiber ready! Finished in 1911 and listed on National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was designed by architect Haralson Bleckley and was one of the earliest garden apartment buildings in Atlanta. Only a few local apartment buildings designed by Bleckley are still standing today. He was known for stylistic elements including the use of cream or tan colored brick, tile for the roof reminiscent of Italian villas, entrance foyer and open balconies. Bleckley trained in the Beaux Arts tradition in Paris and was a major proponent of art and architecture in Atlanta during the early 20th century. Many of Atlanta's public schools, hotels, churches, and the original Brookhaven Country Club were by Bleckley.
