Suitia Castle, is perhaps the oldest building in Finland, that has been developed to be either a family home and a mansion, or a public building for the Highest order of small hotels or commercial facilities management services. Built originally in 1545 by Erik Fleming. The current romantic silhouette for the Castle was created under the ownership of August Wrede af Elimä, ca 1910. The history of the Suitia Castle as well as the families owning it is very well documented. Among the owners some of the following families can be seen; Fleming, Wrangel, Reuterholm, Wrede and the State of Finland / Senaatti Kiinteistöt Oy and the current owners of the neighbouring Gårdskulla and Suitia Estate.The buildings are in total some 1550 m2 of building area, of which the castle is ca 1150 m2, the annex building from 1770 ca 250 m2, and there is a separate storage house of ca 65 m2 and a sauna building of ca 85 m2. The Castles additionally is surrounded by its park and gardens, and they together cover ca 8,4 ha of land. A private Wrede family burial ground lies in the very center of the Gardens.
