The Montioni property is located on the Florentine Chianti hills, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, facing the Arno valley and the Pratomagno mountains.The construction of the oldest unit, consisting of a pollarded tower, dates back to the early 12th century by an emerging local family, the "da Montioni", vassals of the powerful Conti Guidi. The still existing tower of the XII century, to which further extensions were added, was made in the medieval age. The last interventions date back to the late Middle Ages when the property was purchased by the noble Serristori family. Until 1930 the house was always used as a stately home. Since then it was only a farmhouse until the end of the 60's when it was bought by the family of the current owner who in recent years has provided for the restoration and recovery of the entire structure. The property includes a garage, an annex of 25 sq.mt. and 2 hectares of olive grove. There is also a well 90 meters deep, a 3.8 kWh photovoltaic system, heating with a 60,000-calorie wood-burning boiler, plus 6.000 - liters diesel tank. The tower is equipped with pellet stoves.
