San Juan del Río is the second largest city in the State of Querétaro and is located just 40 minutes from the capital. It is a city with an industrial vocation due to its strategic location between Mexico City and Querétaro at the foot of the main highway that connects the center with the north of the country. Although it is very little known, San Juan del Río has a very important historical richness since its foundation dates from the year 1531 with colonization. In 1986 it was declared a protected zone of historical monuments which covers 1.2 km within the city.
