Property description
Built around 1920 as the holiday residence of the Misselbacher family, the house is located at 800 meters from Cetate and offers a beautiful view towards the medieval area of the city of Sighișoara. Julius Misselbacher (1903-1963) was a merchant from Sighișoara who had serious concerns in art history and the city’s history as well. He had an important contribution to the scientific knowledge and systematization of the first collections of the Sighișoara History Museum, initiated by doctor Josef Bacon (1857-1941), a passionate collector. Julius Misselbacher created in 1952 the layout of the city from 1735, based on cadastral plans from Vienna’s war archive, supplemented with drawings and plans from the 1700s. The property benefits from 1734 sqm of land. The construction of B+GF+1+A has 452 sqm built area, 400 sqm usable area, 255 sqm footprint. A 40 sqm annex has recently been built in the yard for the hosts when the main residence is used by guests. The property has a generous rectangular courtyard, with opening to two streets which can become a boarding house, kindergarten or residence. In the basement it can be set up a wine cellar with a restaurant, and the attic can be converted into rooms or a conference room.
