Krlingesund's retreat centre from the 1800s sits naturally tucked into surrounding beautiful scenery only 200 metres from the ocean.
The dream of developing a unique and beautiful retreat centre started in 1997 when the artist Sigrid Hansson and the boat builder Mats Bengtsson began the painstaking work of building Krlingesund's retreat centre. The surroundings as well as the natural scenery frames everything wonderfully and one has taken great care to meld inside with outside through the use of many large window sections. The architecture and design is heavily characterized by the anthroposophical school of thought which has been melded perfectly with the best Bohusln has to offer. The 400 square metre building sleeps 38 in 15-17 rooms and has six separate showers and water closets. Three different conference rooms where the largest space fits 100 people. Throughout the building you will find wonderful little details and well-thought through functional solutions. Krlingesund's many visitors throughout the years have expressed how the building together with its surroundings creates a serenity and peace which is hard to find today. The current owner acquired the property in 2014 and has improved and renovated many parts of the house. The main building went through a thorough renovation and rebuilding process in 2016 when they also added an attic apartment to the second floor. Here you will find four rooms and a kitchen, many fire places, balcony, and a deep connection with nature as the river stream in the garden flows poetically just outside. The ground floor also has a distinguished 120 square metre apartment with three rooms and a kitchen, which also feels closely connected to nature.
