Property descriptionBeautifully located in Solsidan in Saltsjöbaden overlooking the waters of the archipelago. This unique private villa is a cultural historical jewel and is celebrating the centennial of its construction . Charles Lindholm, architect and professor of arts at Chalmers Technical College and the Royal Academy of Arts , designed the house in 1918 and commissioned its construction for his own use. The building is in the Swedish National Romantic style with inspiration from the Middle Ages. As it resembles a miniature version of Glimmingehus Castle, it became known as “Lilla Glimmingehus” (Little Glimmingehus), and with its steep brick roof, intentionally asymmetrically placed windows and exposed anchor plates on the façade as well as walls areas dressed in copper, it harks back to medieval castles. The hand painted ceilings are painted by the famous decorator Filip Månsson with well-preserved original features. The building has been meticulously and extensively renovated interiorly and exteriorly, the pool, stone paving, walls and patios. On each level there is under floor heating and carefully renovated original cast iron radiators supplied by a ”state of the art” mountain heating system .The property is surrounded by high elegant iron gates and fences influenced by Kensington Palace with a lovely Italian inspired garden leading down to the water .
