Three slices of good bread
Good cheese (preferable Gruyère or Emmental)
Six slices of Parma ham (or any good ham)
Heat the grill to a medium/high heat. Brush the slices of bread with olive oil and layer the Parma ham onto the surface. Cover with either grated or thinly sliced cheese.
Grill the cheese on toast until the bread is slightly crispy and the cheese has melted and is beginning to bubble and brown.
Delicious with chopped parsley scattered over the top and with a mug of soup.
