Property description
Deep in the forests of Småland is Havsjö Tovtorpet – a fishing camp in its own water landscape created by five ponds. The ponds and rippling streams surround the red timber, with the forest growing all around. A paradise of nature that you love to stay in. The houses are currently built as a Bed and Breakfast but can just as easily be used as your private home. The largest pond has a sandy beach with a wood-fired sauna. Here, nature and tranquility are always present.

Today, fishing tourism is conducted for individual companies, along with a small-scale salmon farm. The buildings are furnished for parties and conferences with the possibility of overnight accommodation, but the residential buildings function just as well as private housing. This is a place where you can conduct business or enjoy your own accommodation all year round.

The main building was built in 1910 on 1 1/2 floors with basement. After an extension to the gable, the house comprises five rooms, kitchen and bathroom. To the south, a large terrace overlooks the pond.

A few meters away lies the older cottage built in the middle of the 19th century, also called Blind Tilda's house. The cottage is located on a hill overlooking the smaller ponds and consists of four rooms and a simple kitchen. Several original details are preserved, such as beautiful mirrored doors and wooden floors. Both houses are in good condition. Next to the residential building is also a garage with storage. The old barn is currently furnished as a party room. The building, measuring approximately 9 x 18 meters, is half insulated with an industrial kitchen, cold room as well as a changing room with showers and toilets. Upstairs is a small conference room. The other half of the building holds an uninsulated ballroom with ceilings open to the ridge. Through sliding doors, the party room connects to the patio and its view of the pond.

The barn / party room has a permit for 70 guests and 25 guests in the conference room. The residential buildings have been used for guest accommodation, built for accommodating 27 people.

The forest and the private land

The private forest land surrounding the houses amounts to approximately 21.2 ha according to the forestry plan, where 19.5 ha is productive forest land, and 1.7 ha is part of a nature reserve. The timber stock amounts to 2,680 m3sk and is divided into 11 % pine, 67 % fir and 21 % leaves, as well as a small amount of larch. The property's average density is 7.2 m3sk/ha per year and continuous growth is 6.1 m3skha / ha and year.

The private land consists of the lawned area in front of the houses and some smaller pastures / fields on the property – a total of about 2.1 ha according to the forestry plan.

Hunting and Fishing

Tovtorpet holds a share in joint fishing within Havsjö village, which includes the lakes Norrsjön and Sörsjön, as well as Tostaån. The crayfish fishery is divided, with Tovtorpet property fishing in the Tofta river from the bridge, along its own border to the north. The own ponds together, along with part of the Tosta river, amount to about 2.0 ha. The hunting is part of a team with the neighboring properties regarding moose hunt and small game hunt, conducted under its own auspices. The property houses good access to roe deer and wild boar, as well as moose.

Fish farming

There are currently 5 ponds plus a groundwater pond at Tovtorpet. Two of them are used for fish farming, the others for fishing experiences. The year of fish farming begins in the spring with small fish of 80-120 grams being released into the pond called The Nursery. After a time, when they grow up, they are moved to the next pond. In Oct / Nov, when the fish weigh 1-1.5 kg, they are taken up to be smoked. Some fish are also moved to the largest pond in front of the house, where visitors have been allowed to fish.
