Property descriptionAward-winning Hotel Kullaberg in Mölle
In a breath-taking setting next to the harbour and with views of the sea, you find the landmark Kullaberg Hotel and Restaurant. Forerunner to the boutique hotels of today and boasting award-winning décor. In good condition. Welcome to Hotel Kullaberg!
A few miles north of Helsingborg, gently surrounded by the mountains, lies the famous seaside resort Mölle. Right on the waterfront in the beautiful fishing harbour, Hotel Kullaberg rises above the characteristic whitewashed west coast houses that adorn the heart of the village. Kullaberg, which was built as a restaurant in 1875, and following a large fire in the village in the late 1880s was converted into Mölle's first hotel, now has its indisputable place both in the village's history and in the heart of the harbour.
From 1995 to 1997 the hotel underwent an extensive renovation to meet modern standards. The turn-of-the-century spirit was restored but now also in harmony with luxury and comforts. The well-preserved atmosphere of the last century is reminiscent in the tall windows displaying mullions and transoms as well as the glass panelled double doors and mirrored doors that adorn each hotel room. On the south-west corner of the entrance level, the hotel restaurant and bistro are perfectly located, enabling guests to witness the summer sun descending on Kattegat's horizon through iconic turn-of-the-century panoramic windows. Behind the scenes lies the professional kitchen containing high industrial standards.
On the upper floors, guests can enjoy comfortable rooms, its decor inspired by famous historical figures such as Ernest Hemingway, Louis Armstrong and Marco Polo. Several of the rooms have balconies facing the fishing harbour and the sea amidst masts of sailing boats swaying in the foreground. The fresh tiled bathrooms equipped with a shower or bathtub indicates minimal maintenance for the buyer.
Mölle has long been an attractive destination for summer holidays. The village is rich in history and can proudly call itself Europe's first seaside resort hosting bathhouses where men and women bathed together. The coast of Kullaberg invites you to many great experiences to be had- for those who crave outdoor adventures, it offers many hiking trails, bathing from cliffs, kayak trips and climbing areas. Lars Vilks' esteemed site-specific art installation Nimis can also be found here. Year after year, tourists pour in to experience this extraordinary peninsula which, only half an hour from both the E4 and E6 highways, is extremely accessible to people both from the South and the North.
