Snap up some original art
Fans of Mick Cawston’s work will want to know about an online auction of his work

Admirers of the late Mick Cawston's gently humorous take on a dog's life now have an opportunity to snap up original paintings, limited-edition prints, sketches and bronzes in an online auction. Mr Cawston, who died in 2006, was best known for his lovingly observed paintings of lurchers, but, as his career developed, his sporting scenes also became highly sought-after.
The auction will be a timed one on www.the-saleroom.com, running from today (April 16) to 5pm on April 27. Lots include The Getaway Driver, which shows a crafty fox making its escape on a bicycle, and The Gamekeeper, depicting a hoary old lab enjoying a pipe and a pint. These and many others can be viewed online at www.sallymitchell.com or at Sally Mitchell's gallery in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire (01777 838234).
