The art of the country garden at Daylesford
On July 2 this year, five experts shared their thoughts on the secret of creating the perfect rural sanctuary.
From planning and hard landscaping to lighting and sculptures that draw your eye, this panel discussion at Daylesford in the Cotswolds covered some key elements that transform the setting for a home in the country.
The panellists were Chelsea Gold Medallist Charlotte Harris, of Harris Bugg, eighth-generation builder Tim Moulding, lighting expert and co-founder of Corston David Gray, sculptor Hamish Mackie and the Sussex-based architect Tom Turner.
The variety of disciplines offered a holistic view of the process involved in making a garden, with a discussion of materials, structure, outbuildings as well as productive gardens.
Afterwards, there was an opportunity to chat to the panel at a lunch served on the terrace at the magnificent Heritage Barn.
