At Country Life Online, the thing we are interested in publishing above all else are ‘Intelligent stories for the curious mind’.

So, what does that mean? We want to tell stories that inform and amuse. And we want to write them in an intelligent and sophisticated — underlined by a strong sense of British wit.

We want to hear from you. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a world-famous journalist or a new and emerging voice, if the story is right for us, we’ll help you publish it.

We’re after coverage of the best cultural events, the countryside and the people in it, cars, travel, fashion, jewellery and watches, property, interiors and gardens. We want news pieces, we want long-form reads — and we want an emphasis on people, personalities, places and opinions.

We want to curate an experience for our readers that shows them the better things in life. They are well-read, ambitious, well-travelled, but eternally curious to see new places, hear new opinions and discover stories that haven’t yet been told.

What do we want in a pitch

One of two lines of topline information. What do you want to say and how do you plan to say it? If you want to interview someone, do you already have access to them?

Why we should cover it and why you are the writer and/or photographer for the job

If it’s travel or event-specific, please confirm whether or not you’ve travelled yet

If we haven’t worked with you yet, please include examples of your work
