Diary date: Petersham gardens event in June
Ten beautiful private gardens will open for one day only to visitors in June in aide of the Petersham Environment Trust

On Sunday, June 1st, ten stunning private gardens in picturesque Petersham will open to visitors in aid of the Petersham Environment Trust.
With a huge variety of gardens on offer, from the grand and extensive small but perfectly-formed, this event offers a huge range of inspiration for garden lovers. Teas and homemade cakes will be on sale should guests get peckish and, depending on the weather, a BBQ is planned outside the Village Hall.
Funds from the event will go towards restoring and maintaining the neglected Petersham Lodge Woods, a natural habitat containing many wild and endangered species.
Advance tickets are on sale until the 28th May for the reduced rate of £8 per person. On the day tickets can be purchased for £10 per adult. Entry is free for children under 16. Gardens will be open from 11am-5pm, with last ticket sales at 4pm.
All gardens are within a ten-minute walk from the Petersham Gate entrance to Richmond Park, opposite the Dysart Arms. Buses 65 and 371 from Richmond station serve. Directions to the gardens will be displayed throughout the village, and a simple map will be included in the programme.

Country Life is unlike any other magazine: the only glossy weekly on the newsstand and the only magazine that has been guest-edited by HRH The King not once, but twice. It is a celebration of modern rural life and all its diverse joys and pleasures — that was first published in Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee year. Our eclectic mixture of witty and informative content — from the most up-to-date property news and commentary and a coveted glimpse inside some of the UK's best houses and gardens, to gardening, the arts and interior design, written by experts in their field — still cannot be found in print or online, anywhere else.
