Footballer and broadcaster, Gary Lineker has laid the development stone for a new resort in south east Spain
The footballer turned broadcaster, Gary Lineker, has just laid the foundation stone at Resort 3 Molinos, a considerable 1,230 acre new project in the Valle del Sol, 10 minutes from the historic towns of Murcia and Cartagena on the Costa Calida. The Spanish development company run by the Conesa Alcaraz family has big plans for this development including two Greg Norman 18 hole golf courses, a five star hotel and spa with thermal springs, football and rugby grounds, a tennis academy, equestrian centre, where a collection of Andalucian horses will be kept, swimming pools including a 50 metre Olympic indoor pool, athletic stadium and cycle track. There will also be an international school, medical centre, art gallery and theatre, nursery and town centres with shops, restaurants, pubs and supermarket. The beach Mar Menor is 10 minutes away, to which a shuttle bus will run. In all, only 15 percent a low density of the area will be built on and many of the apartments, villas and townhouses will be surrounded by lemon, orange and olive trees. Some of the apartments, which have just been released, will be very contemporary and these are priced from around £162,857. Other apartments, which overlook the 15th fairway and are the first to be constructed, start at around £157,587 for one with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.(01273 774098, www.ipi-ltd.co.uk) * Overseas property for sale

Our eclectic mixture of witty and informative content — from the most up-to-date property news and commentary and a coveted glimpse inside some of the UK's best houses and gardens, to gardening, the arts and interior design, written by experts in their field — still cannot be found in print or online, anywhere else.
