Country Life readers' event: Furniture with a future
Join Country Life on October 13 to discover the secret of ground-breaking designs that will stand the test of time at Modern British Kitchens.
Next week, to coincide with the ‘Formed with Future Heritage’ exhibition at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, CountryLife is hosting a drop-in event with George Gardner, an architect who is reinventing the way that furniture is conceived and crafted.
Contact modernbritish@futurenet.com to book your place at Furniture with a Future with Country Life's Giles Kime
With a team of designers and craftspeople based in Hampshire, he is creating kitchens, furniture and joinery that maximises the possibilities of handmade furniture that is functional, beautiful, sustainable and highly space efficient.
Together, they believe that it is only through truly mould-breaking design that designers — from Arts-and-Crafts style to Modernist — have ever succeeded in making furniture that aesthetically and functionally will stand the test of time.
At this event, which takes place on October 13, 3pm–4pm, Country Life’s Executive Editor Giles Kime will discuss the pioneering work of Modern British Kitchens with Mr Gardner at the company’s new London showroom.
There will be a chance to toast the latest arrival at the Design Centre with a glass or two of Hambledon fizz from Britain’s oldest commercial vineyard, not far from Modern British Kitchen’s workshops.
