Halloween haunts in London

The capital is the place to be for Halloween this year. Hetty Chidwick discovers some of the spookiest establishments in which to celebrate.

Dr Frankenstein at Mr Fogg’s
The Mayfair bar, hidden off Barclay Square on Bruton Lane already has its fair share of theatricals. This week, they welcome a new visitor through its heavy oak doors in the shape of Dr Frankenstein for a week of entertainment and wildly experimental cocktails, all with a spooky twist. You can expect bubbling concoctions in cauldrons, bell jars brimming with brain parts and barman dressed in Victorian scientist garb with a trick or two up their sleeves.

From Tuesday October 28- Saturday November 1
Mr Fogg’s, 15 Bruton Lane, London, W1J 6JD

Halloween party at REXTAIL, Albermarle Street
This year, a stone’s throw from Green Park, REXTAIL, (Novikov’s sister restaurant) known for its delectable steak, game and fish, is hosting a freakishly good Halloween party, celebrating all things ghoulish. MoMix the molecular cocktail mixologists, are set to transform the bar into an “eerie and smokey futuristic science lab”. Alongside will be a devilishly good Halloween themed food menu including devil spiced marinated baby chicken and roasted pumpkin soup with almonds and basil oil. With top-notch food, a relaxed yet luxuriant atmosphere and great music (often live), this is a place to settle in until the early hours.
