Millionaire's Thai playground
A new development in Thailand is out to attract those who sail and like to live by the water

The phase two launch of luxury scheme Royal Phuket Marina on the eastern coast of Phuket brings private yacht berths and garages, and new 'aquaminiums' to keen yachties. 'Aquaminiums' homes that open straight onto the water allow boat owners to dock right beneath the living area are a unique concept from developer The Luxury Residences, who recently won a best international design award at this year's International Property Awards. Triplex and duplex penthouse apartments with private yacht garages and two or three-bedroom condominiums priced from £1.615 million to £2.153 million are available through Savills (www.savills.com/royalphuketmarina), along with a grand royal villa at £5.169 million. The aquaminiums cost from £324,615 to £1.006 million. The interiors, masterminded by Luxury Residences' Gulu Lalvani, will reflect traditional Thai design creating clam, class and space, while at the same time incorporating many modern indulgences like air-conditioning. The marina is positioning itself to rival luxury Caribbean and European resorts a haven for the rich or famous, or those who want to pander to owning a relaxing waterside haunt. 'It is my vision to create the best yachting paradise, with year-round sailing. Royal Phuket Marina will be an entertainment, leisure and lifestyle hub and I believe Phuket has every reason to grow as a major magnet for celebrities, jetsetters and global yachties,' says Mr Lalvani.

Country Life is unlike any other magazine: the only glossy weekly on the newsstand and the only magazine that has been guest-edited by HRH The King not once, but twice. It is a celebration of modern rural life and all its diverse joys and pleasures — that was first published in Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee year. Our eclectic mixture of witty and informative content — from the most up-to-date property news and commentary and a coveted glimpse inside some of the UK's best houses and gardens, to gardening, the arts and interior design, written by experts in their field — still cannot be found in print or online, anywhere else.
