• Location: The village sits about a mile and a half from Newport Pagnell.
• Atmosphere: This was a tiny, ancient settlement, which managed to be considered a village, despite at one stage only having two houses, by virtue of housing a parish. The Church of St Peter's is small but perfectly formed and the grand Tyringham Hall was designed by Sir John Soane.
• Things to do: Plenty to choose from, whetehr it's the Newport Pagnell heritage trail or trips to nearby Bletchley park or Woburn Abbey (the Woburn Safari park is always a hit with children).
