Situated in the Peloponnese on mainland Greece, a favoured destination for rich Athenians looking for some R&R, Aman Resorts is building its first residential development alongside a new hotel in Europe.
Porto Heli is a beautiful natural harbour on the eastern side of the Peloponnese which has evolved to become one of the most upscale destinations anywhere in the country. The Aman Residences will be located on the highest possible point of the region’s rolling hills with commanding views out to sea, just a ten minute drive away from the vibrant town of Porto Heli itself.
The development will be a combination of hotel and residences. The hotel, run by the Aman group, will be an outstanding and peaceful destination to relax. There will be 38 guest pavilions all built separately to ensure maximum privacy and many have their own double-lap swimming pools. Owners and guests of the hotel will also enjoy use of the beach club which is situated in a seclude sandy bay with sparkling azure waters, just a short buggy ride from the hotel and the residences and will feature treatment rooms and refreshment areas. There is also a spa attached to the hotel and for those interested in fitness there a gym, tennis courts and a yoga room are all part of the plan.

The main restaurant will be fronted by an outdoor dining area with perfect sea views and the lounge bar is for more relaxed evening diners, while the pool restaurant offers more of a daytime choice for food and drinks.
The library and the boutique are designed for guests and owners relaxing, either browsing local handicrafts or looking for some reading material.
The residences at Porto Heli are being billed as the most exclusive resort being developed in Greece and offer a small number of properties situated around the hotel on plots averaging 2 acres.
Two types of property are available – the first type is a four to five bedroom residence which are built and designed to individual specifications depending on the owners’ preferences; the second type are two bedroom residences which are built on smaller plots with slightly smaller swimming pools. These properties are available to buy for between €3m and €20m. The first residences are expected to be complete at the same time as the hotel, in 2012.
The local area is a beautiful, unspoiled part of Greece which is fantastic for exploring and brimming with history: the ancient city of Mycenae is 50km away and the region also has a fantastic reputation for its local fruits, olives and wines. Days can be whiled away pottering around the small uninhabited islets and Spetses Island is a few minutes away by water taxi. Watersports are also a big attraction for visitors to the area.
