Saltash, also known as ‘the gateway to Cornwall’, has the winning combination of a low crime rate, stable house prices and close proximity to top primary school St Germans.
Sue Hooper MBE, Mayor of Saltash, said: ‘With great community spirit, ample local amenities and plenty to see and do, we’ve always known our picturesque and vibrant town is fantastic, but I’m delighted to see this confirmed.
‘The enthusiasm and support from the people in the PL12 area, combined with the many organisations working to improve its environs, make Saltash a wonderful place to live or visit.’
Alastair Bruce, senior content manager for MSN Local, said: ‘Criteria for the best places to live is hugely subjective, however most people are concerned with similar factors, such as good schools, crime and house prices.’
Kettering in Northamptonshire, Combe in Oxfordshire and Kendal in Cumbria had the top three primary schools in the survey’s league table—Hall Meadow Primary School, Coombe Church of England Primary School and Dean Gibson Catholic Primary School respectively.
