Cottage increases by 1521%
A small cottage in Northamptonshire sold recently at 15 times the value that the vendors paid for it

Kunda Cottage in Whilton was bought in 1976 for £13,750. A pretty thatched building located in a village just on the edge of the Althorp estate, it has two bedrooms, a conservatory and a good-sized rear garden.
Jackson Stops & Staff in Northampton have just sold the property on behalf of the vendors who have been in residence for 34 years at a figure of £223,000. This represents a 1521% increase over 34 years.
'While the property market fluctuates over the years this is a strong example that property remains a good investment over the long term,' says Richard Jones (01604 632991)
Exquisite houses, the beauty of Nature, and how to get the most from your life, straight to your inbox.
Country Life is unlike any other magazine: the only glossy weekly on the newsstand and the only magazine that has been guest-edited by His Majesty The King not once, but twice. It is a celebration of modern rural life and all its diverse joys and pleasures — that was first published in Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee year. Our eclectic mixture of witty and informative content — from the most up-to-date property news and commentary and a coveted glimpse inside some of the UK's best houses and gardens, to gardening, the arts and interior design, written by experts in their field — still cannot be found in print or online, anywhere else.
