Cromwellian mansion to rescue
A rare opportunity has arisen for someone to take on the project of restoring this Grade II listed Dutch gabled mansion in Surrey to its former glory

Brick-built Brook Place in Chobham, Surrey has received listed building consent for a sympathetic renovation and extension.
Dating from the early 1600s, Brook Place retains plenty of period charm with low beamed ceilings and impressive inglenook fireplaces. The property was a working farm until the early 1950s. Records show that the last major renovation was carried out around 1927 when the house was also extended. Set over three storeys the property could offer up to seven bedrooms but is presented very much as a blank canvas for the new owner.
In addition to the mansion, there is a magnificent tithe barn together with a 3-bedroom cottage and a small gardener's cottage. The property sits in 16 acres of land which includes a lake with an island and there is also a swimming pool.

Uniquely unique? The Yorkshire grain silos transformed into a home that's a symphony in glass, steel and curves
