Exquisite houses, the beauty of Nature, and how to get the most from your life, straight to your inbox.
As the only all-boys’ Prep boarding school in the North of England, Aysgarth is unique. The School holds an unmatched record in the North of sending the boys to the most selective public schools in the country.
Within a firm framework of courtesy and looking out for each other, the sense of fun also shines through. Aysgarth is a small school with a family atmosphere – a supportive community with great staff. Everywhere you turn, you will see a four-legged friend – there is nearly a dog in every classroom! The dorms are all under one roof with no other boys’ accommodation spread across the site.
An Aysgarthian is characterised by his adventurous spirit, his confidence, independence and his politeness.
The building of the sports hall is a significant step forward. It officially opened in October 2013 and whilst it has enormously enhanced the Aysgarth School's sports facilities, it has also freed up the previous hall as a dedicated performing arts centre which was significantly refurbished as a new theatre and opened in October 2014. Within the theatre is new lighting and sound, stage curtains and retractable tiered seating with an additional music and drama classroom.
Over 40 activities are offered to the boys during weekday evenings alone.
