Lancing College provides an exceptional all-round education in stunning surroundings just over an hour from London. Our aim is to illuminate, inspire and encourage independence.
Enjoy excelling
Schools seem to have forgotten that you can excel, but enjoy excelling too… however that’s not the case at Lancing College. It’s a school where young people can achieve excellence not just in the exam hall, but pursue their passions and go beyond their expectations.
Lancing can respond to individual characters because of its House system, pastoral care and small size. Good results come about through instilling an enthusiasm for life and learning, not through teaching simply to pass exams. We are proudly academic, but art, drama, music and sport are profoundly important to us and we believe these opportunities encourage the young people in our care to flourish.
A warmth that is almost tangible
Great places of learning have a special atmosphere and Lancing has it in spades. There is a fizz in the classroom and a warmth in the relationships between staff and pupils; we are a community and a family, and particularly noted for the strength of our pastoral care. Every element of the school guides and helps its pupils to live fulfilled, happy and successful lives.
Boarding flexible and fun
A recent multi-million pound refurbishment of all of the accommodation at Lancing has enhanced the boarding experience. Every House provides a welcoming environment where each pupil can feel safe and cared for. Our families love the full flexibility of our boarding.
Equestrian centre The extra-curricular activities at Lancing are an important aspect of school life and there are excellent on-site resources. There has been a College farm run by pupils for the last 30 years but in September 2016 an equestrian centre will open, to complement the farm and further extend the school’s facilities.
We offer a number of scholarships for entry at Year 9 and Year 12. These can be supplemented by means tested bursaries.
