Take to the floor

Colour expert Annie Sloan suggests matching a painted floor to furniture for joyful effect. ‘Turning traditional squares on a diagonal creates a particularly playful effect,’ she says of this harlequin design, created in her Honfleur and Old White Chalk Paint, £26.95 for 1L.

History in the making

From the National Trust Papers III collection by Little Greene, Bird and Bluebell in Pea Green has been created from fragments of 19th-century wallpaper found at Felbrigg Hall in Norfolk. The mural design has been adapted and recoloured to suit today’s interiors and is supplied as a standard 10m roll, £244, including three drops, each 3.25m in height.
